Our experience with surface casing vent flow and gas migration testing, evaluation, and repair directly correlates to cost savings for our clients.

A surface casing vent flow (SCVF) is the flow of gas and/or liquid out of the surface casing. Such wellbore source emissions result in increasing liability and cost for our clients. Fifteen percent of the wells in Western Canada have SCVF or gas migration that requires testing or repair. With the high cost of each repair attempt, we know the importance of doing the job right the first time.

Soil gas migration is a gas flow outside the surface casing. Our experienced abandonment consultants specialize in soil gas migration testing, gas collection, carbon isotope analysis, and SCVF and gas migration shut-offs.

We maximize the value of our testing and repair services through:
• program planning as well as capturing, evaluating, and reporting test results using our Lion’s DenŠ regulatory compliance software
• bubble tests, flow rates, and pressure buildups using calibrated and accurate testing equipment
• wellhead seals testing and pressure measurements
• gas sampling and carbon isotope analysis for source determination
• synchronized summer testing programs for multiple clients to reduce costs
• open hole and cased hole log analysis to accurately locate the source of the leak
• use of the latest technological advances in source determination, cement blends and alternative gas shut-off methods
